Diagnosis

The elderly lady went to the doctor’s office for a checkup. After he completed the exam, the doctor sat down across his desk from her and said, “I’m afraid I have some bad news for you, and some even worse news.”

Stunned, the woman said, “What’s the bad news?”

The doctor replied, “I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but you have Alzheimer’s.”

The woman, with a catch in her throat, said, “Oh, no—but what’s the worse news?”

The doctor said, “Well, I’m afraid that you have cancer.”

And the woman replied, “Well, at least it’s not Alzheimer’s.”
